Letters From A Young Peace Pilgrim
Sacred Activism — Walking a Web of Meaning in Response to the Pains of the World.
“Be the change you want to see in the world”
—Mahatma Gandhi
I believe that the planetary meta-crisis is fundamentally a crisis of consciousness and relationship.
The systemic healing of our relationship to life requires an integral approach that bridges inner and outer transformation—beginning with our Selves.
That’s why together with August Aalstad, Diego, Luke Earthwalker, and Slow is Sacred, we’re initiating a World Peace Pilgrimage — an embodied and loving response to the “Pains of the World”.
This lifelong pilgrim’s path rests on a simple declaration:
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.
Our intention is clear:
Not to walk for peace, but to walk as peace.
Not to create change, but to be the change.
Not to seek virtue, but to live virtue.
The last three weeks of this journey have revealed more about my Self, my shadows, and my light than the previous twenty years combined.

What follows is a glimpse into some of the transformative experiments shaping our pilgrimage—and what they’re teaching us about becoming the change we wish to see in the world.
“My destination is in each step”
The Pilgrim’s Path
Pilgrim — “a traveller, wayfarer, foreigner, or stranger travelling to a holy place.”
Pilgrimage — “the act of journeying through a strange country to a holy place; a long journey undertaken by a pilgrim; the journey of life.”
Our pilgrim’s path is a lifelong journey.
Not a journey towards somewhere.
But a transformation into someone.
The “holy place” we’re journeying to is the complete actualisation of the Self in the present moment — being one with life, bridging heaven and earth, reconciling the human and the more-than-human and fusing spirit and matter into unity consciousness.

Sacred Activism — Walking A Web of Meaning
Our path is guided through a non-dogmatic, interfaith, and perennial perspective. We see the diversity of religious streams as different manifestations of the same eternal source — like an orchestra of instruments playing the same divine melody.

We intentionally walk beyond the constraints of traditional religion to weave together a universal, life-affirming “Web of Meaning”. Each sacred site we visit—each energetic vortex—becomes a node in this living network. By moving between them with full presence and open hearts, we’re not just travelling through space; we’re weaving an invisible mycelial bridge of compassion that connects these ancient wells of wisdom.

This is sacred activism: not creating unity, but unveiling it—walking the threads that have always bound us.
“I belong to no religion. My religion is love. Every heart is my temple.”
― Rumi
We Never Walk Alone
We are not walking alone.
We are walking in the footsteps of many great spiritual ancestors — Christ. Mother Mary. Mary Magdalene. Amma. Mahatma Gandhi. Martin Luther King Jr. Thich Nhat Hanh. Buddha. Lao Tzu. Saint Francis. Saint Clare. And many more.
Following Divine Trails of Inspiration
We have been following trails of divine inspiration: from the caves of Mary Magdalene, receiving a hug from hugging saint Amma, experiencing the Temples of Humankind at Damanhur, visiting the birthplace of the Renaissance in Florence, singing Hare Krishna at Villa Vrindavana, co-creating with fellow Gaians at Villa Gaia, to seeing the pope in Assisi.

In the Footsteps of Saint Francis
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace”.
We are currently following the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals and Ecology, carrying his spirit of radical simplicity, peace and devotion to all life. We are now walking in La Verna, and after that, we are headed to Rome to deliver a message of peace to the Pope.

Towards “VR” — A Virtuous Reality
“So behave that the odor of your actions may enhance the general sweetness of the atmosphere.”
—Henry David Thoreau
It’s easy to talk about virtue. It’s hard to live virtue.

To truly live the virtues we want to see in the world, we're experimenting with VR — “Virtuous Reality".
We realise that the virtuous “Bodhisattva Path” in service to all living beings cannot be walked alone. Only in sangha — sacred community — can we truly hold each other accountable, work through our shadows, and embody the light.

“The next Buddha will be a Sangha”
Following the Cycles of the Moon
Inspired by the cycles of nature, we follow the 27-day Lunar ascent, cultivating one archetypal virtue every day — like reverence, gratitude, trust, courage, humility — while moving through nine chakras that connect us from the Earth to the Cosmos.

The Magic of Shadow Alchemy
Each virtue reveals its shadow: exploitation beneath reverence, entitlement beneath gratitude, control beneath trust, avoidance beneath courage, pride beneath humility.
Shadows and suffering aren’t meant to be eliminated but alchemised—as they illuminate the path toward virtuous embodiment.
“One recognizes one’s course by discovering the paths that stray from it.”
—Albert Camus
Planting Crystals of Hope
Each day, we gather in ceremony to plant a crystal into the soil—seeding it as a virtuous intention into the crystalline consciousness of Mother Earth.

Ending the Cycle with a Dark “Womb Retreat”
The 27-day cycle ends with a 33-hour darkness “womb retreat” during the new moon, to nurture, process and integrate the cultivated virtues and learnings.

The Power of Holons
“No man is an island—he is a holon. A Janus-faced entity who, looking inward, sees himself as a self-contained unique whole, looking outward as a dependent part.”
― Arthur Koestler, The Ghost in the Machine
Inspired by the patterns of life, we see ourselves as “holons” — integral wholes part of greater wholes — recognising the nature of interbeing, autonomy and reciprocity within and between the nested scales of life.
We experiment with “Holonizing”, “Halonizing” and “Holonic Journaling” to remember and re-attune to ancient and symbiotic ways of relating to life.
Holonizing — Cultivating Collective Coherence
Holonizing is our practice of fractal alignment—weaving our individual hearts, minds, and energies into collective coherence through daily synchronisation circles. We voice intentions, name needs, and clarify roles, to move as individual wholes within a greater whole, like cells in one body.

Halonizing — Generating An Aura of Peace
Halonizing is the sacred ritual of generating a coherent energetic field—a “Halo” or “aura”—around our collective holon. We use dynamic, intuitive prayers, meditations and chanting to strengthen this field. Through our “Halonizations” we create deep synchronisation between us, work through our shadows and ensure our actions arise from an aligned and pure source of consciousness.

Holonic Journaling — Weaving Symbiotic Intelligence
Holonic Journaling is the process of using technology to record, transcribe, process, synthesise and share information and learnings across our holon. Through holonic journaling we cultivate an evolving, transparent, digital knowledge commons, collective intelligence and living memory. By fusing human-embodied wisdom with AI pattern recognition, we cultivate Symbiotic Intelligence.

Will You Walk With Us?
The pilgrimage continues.
Our European journey is the first act of a global movement.
This pilgrimage will continue to the Heart of the World — Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia — to co-create a Peace Village with Sun Nation and the Indigenous elders of the Arhuaco.
I’ll continue being a scribe of this epic journey. Subscribe to The Mycelium to continue walking the path of life together.
Will you join our journey of peace?
Feel free to also subscribe to the World Peace Pilgrimage, the place where August Aalstad, Diego, Luke Earthwalker, slow is sacred and I will repost our individual reflections.

I am walking with you - as you, beloved brother.
This is so inspiring to read, thank you sharing on this beautiful path. It touches me that you will end your journey in Teyuna - that's where it all begin for me. The message of the Kogui is clear. I wish you all the best on this journey of inner and outer regeneration and maybe our paths will cross one day.
