Sounds like a lovely and enriching journey. So nice that you had this opportunity to truly occupy a different space than modernity expects of us. I’m even more grateful that you not only did this in a vacuum, but have a platform and work that puts these lessons into service to the broader public. Also, thanks so much for the reference ;)
Hey Tijn, I love how you termed it “snailing”. I had a snailing phase the other year in Mexico and Guatemala, and had the amazing opportunity to be able to just respond (manifesting generator) and take part in natural building experiences and longer ecologically centered courses. I came back to Berlin and got sucked back into the city life, but am also going to look for a quieter rooting spot soon 🙂 it’s nice to read about your version of some of these experiences!
There is so much in this that resonates with me, things I believe, try to guide others towards, and am striving for myself. Thank you for sharing your journey and perspective!
This morning, while meditating, I had a realization: I spend so much time worrying about who I am or who I want to become… and not enough on simply being. What are the conditions I need for my true self to emerge? What’s the fertile ground that would allow me to bloom? How do I make space for that?
Then I found your post in my inbox, and it felt like such a beautiful synchronicity. I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity brought by the image from the Presencing Institute... aha! The quality of the soil, the inner conditions that allow something to emerge… ding ding. We become the environment we surround ourselves with.
In this ongoing process of weaving and unweaving, it’s so important not to lose sight of the threads, but also not to lose sight of the big picture.
About your question regarding moving South, I’m not sure if you meant South America, but have you ever thought about Peru? I’m actually planning a trip there in September. Maybe we'll cross paths! Thanks again for this post.
